From the Commander
This past week we bid a fond farewell to Bryan and Tracy Mau. The Mau’s have been stalwarts at the post for years. We thank them for their service, devotion, and friendship. We wish them the best in the next endeavors and will always have a seat for them in our post if they ever visit or return. As we say in the sea services, “Fair winds and followings seas.”

Announcements
The ALA has graciously volunteered to take lead on our joint participation in the Louisville Labor Day parade. We will be partnering with the Marine Corps League on a float and also providing our color guard to lead the parade. More information to follow in the coming weeks.

When a Veteran passes away, it can be a difficult time. VA understands and is here to help with navigating through challenges.
VA honors the sacrifices of service members’ and Veterans’ dependents and survivors through many benefit programs, which may be available to a surviving spouse, dependent children and/or parents. Read more here.

Sons of the American Legion Meeting (August 7, 2024): There will be a Sons of the American Legion Meeting at 6:00 PM at the post.
Auxiliary Unit 111 Meeting (August 10, 2024): There will be an Auxiliary Unit 111 Meeting at 9:30 AM at the post.
General Membership Meeting (August 13, 2024): There will be a General Membership Meeting at 6:00 PM at the post. The lounge will be closed during this meeting. If you'd like to join the meeting via Zoom, please notify the Executive Board by noon, August 12th.
Bingo (Every Monday Night): Join us for bingo, every Monday night starting at 6:30 PM. All proceeds support Veterans and Veterans' Programs.
