Help Wanted: We have a number of positions at the post that need a volunteer. These include Chaplain, Honor Guard Coordinator, and Medical Equipment Coordinator.
The Chaplain is an integral part of all American Legion ceremonies, especially the installation of officers; the initiation of new members; the dedication of halls, monuments or colors; and funeral services and other rituals that are standard throughout the organization. This is an Executive Board position.
The Honor Guard Coordinator interacts with the community and organizes honor guard support for local events. This work can be primarily done from home.
The Medical Equipment Coordinator examines the medical equipment in the basement, completes an occasional inventory, disposes of excess equipment when necessary.
If you are interested in filling any of these positions, please contact the Commander or any member of the Executive Board.

Amendment G: Expanded property tax exemption for veterans, explained
This constitutional amendment would allow more disabled veterans to qualify for a property tax exemption for a portion of their primary residence’s value.
What’s known as the homestead exemption is limited to veterans who are considered completely and permanently disabled due to their service.
If voters agree, eligibility would expand to include veterans with a significant service-connected disability that makes them unable to work. Non-partisan legislative staff estimate that change would cover around 3,400 more veteran homeowners.
Because it changes the state constitution, this amendment will need 55 percent of the vote to pass.
