A huge thank you to our Audit Committee. While awaiting assignment of a professional audit company, they completed a detailed accounting of our finances over the past 48 months. They expect to deliver a detailed report at our next General Membership meeting.

Sunday Hours: The lounge will open this morning at 11:00 am for the Broncos vs Giants game. Come join us!
Field Kitchen 111 New Hours: Field Kitchen 111 is now closed on Tuesdays, except for special events. In their place, Gravity has food trucks scheduled for Sept. 29, Oct. 6, Oct. 20, Nov. 3 and Nov. 17. Field Kitchen 111 will be open on Sunday Oct. 27 & Nov. 10, then every Sunday moving forward starting November 24.
District 4 Meeting: If you plan on attending the District 4 meeting on Oct. 12, please let Mary N. know (Text 303-718-3392). She will be collecting a total Team 111 headcount for meal planning (breakfast, lunch).

Support for Veterans experiencing fraud and other monetary challenges

Financial problems can create stress that shows up in many ways. Loss of work, unexpected expenses, increasing debt, housing or food uncertainty, and poor financial planning and budgeting can cause an overwhelming sense of shame and hopelessness. These factors may lead to vulnerable moments where Veterans and their loved ones may become more susceptible to scams.
Veterans and their families are popular targets for fraudsters who are looking to steal their pension benefits, disability compensation benefits and/or other means of financial support. Bad actors usually pose as legitimate entities and use sophisticated tactics to take some or all of Veterans’ hard-earned money and benefits. Some common fraud schemes include pension poaching, identity theft, phishing and fraudulent investment opportunities. Continue reading here.

Sons of the American Legion Meeting (October 2, 2024): There will be a Sons of the American Legion Meeting at 6:00 PM at the post.
General Membership Meeting (October 8, 2024): There will be a General Membership Meeting at 6:00 PM at the post. The lounge will be closed during this meeting. If you'd like to join the meeting via Zoom, please notify the Executive Board by noon, October 7th.
A Toast to Walter Rhoades (October 9, 2024): On the evening of October 9th, will be pausing to honor our namesake Walter Rhodes. PFC Walter Rhoades was killed while on October 9, 1918 while fighting in World War I. More details on this event to follow.
District 4 Meeting (October 12, 2024): The District Four fall meeting will be held on October 12th, from 9am to 11am, at the American Legion Post 32 (Longmont). This meeting is open to all members in our district.
Auxiliary Unit 111 Meeting (October 19, 2024): There will be an Auxiliary Unit 111 Meeting at 9:30 AM at the post.
Live Music by James Hurtado (October 19, 2024): We are excited to welcome James Hurtado to Walter Rhoades American Legion Post 111. James has been playing professionally for 20 years and has shared the stage with Daniel Valdez and has also performed at the Winter Park Music Festival as well as the Taste of Colorado. Join us for a night of wonderful music. This event is open to the public.
Save the Date (November 9, 2024): Veterans Day celebration at the post. More details to follow. This event will include live music from The Incidentals.
Bingo (Every Monday Night): Join us for bingo, every Monday night starting at 6:30 PM. All proceeds support Veterans and Veterans' Programs.
