This Week at Walter Rhoades Post 111
Announcements, news, events, and other information about your American Legion Post.
From the Commander
Achieving our goals for 2024-2025 is one of my major efforts while serving as your Commander. If you recall from July’s general membership meeting, one of our goals included establishing an operating budget for the post. Thanks to the hard work of our Finance Officer, Tom Costello, we now have an established operating budget, approved by the general membership. Moving forward, Tom will provide budget-based financial updates at the monthly general membership meeting. This budget will go a long way in helping us get our financial house in order. Thank you, Tom!

The ALA has graciously volunteered to take lead on our joint participation in the Louisville Labor Day parade. We will be partnering with the Marine Corps League on a float and also providing our color guard to lead the parade. More information to follow this week.
Did you live in Louisville, Co during the Vietnam War? Did you serve in Vietnam? The Louisville Historical Society is seeking folks willing to share memories of Louisville during the Vietnam War, even if they did not serve in that particular conflict. Please email Summer King (SKing@LouisvilleCO.gov) to set up time to discuss prior to September 5th. These memories will be used to write an article. Any veteran who shares will have early access to approve or edit their statements.
