Announcements
Thank you: I want to thank all of my American Legion Family for showing up and working incredibly hard to make our American Legion Auxiliary Family Community Service Day 2024 very successful! Thank you Ady and Mary W for co-chairing this event with me and working with the city to get the approvals needed.
A BIG THANK YOU TO THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE: Barb, Ady, Mary W and Tracy for making sure all volunteers checked in before we started, Donna for doing an outstanding job feeding all of us throughout the day, Annette for making sure the donuts were delivered for all to enjoy, Tracy for bringing your scooter and becoming the water lady and anything else we needed lady, Michael for organizing the boy-scouts to join us and our photographers Casey Serrano, Tina Lyda and Hailey Reinacher for volunteering time to document this event!
Finally, to each and every person that showed up ready to go and give it your all…your blood (yes we had a couple cuts), sweat and probably tears after getting home and realizing how sore you were, did not go unnoticed by me. I couldn’t have been prouder to work side by side with all of you.
I am hoping to continue doing this event in the future if possible.
Much love and respect,
PJ

News
Veterans Benefiting from VA's Banking Program: Waiting for a benefit check to be delivered in the mail is a slow and tiresome process. Checks can also be lost or stolen. Thankfully, VA’s Veterans Benefits Banking Program (VBBP) has helped thousands of Veterans and their families make the conversion to direct deposit, which is quick, easy and secure.
In fact, VBBP has surpassed 100 participating financial institutions and converted more than 340,000 benefit recipients to direct deposit since its launch in 2019. The 100th financial institution to participate in VBBP was PlainsCapital Bank, and the 101st was Frontwave Credit Union.
With the assistance of the Association of Military Banks of America (AMBA), VA launched VBBP to help Veterans, beneficiaries, caregivers and survivors open accounts and enroll in direct deposit for their VA benefits. Read more about the program here.
