Flags In

On November 10th, 2024, members of Walter Rhoades American Legion Post 111, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 111, and the Sons of the American Legion placed flags on the graves of veterans at the Louisville Cemetery, Louisville, CO. This event was supported by volunteers from Young Men’s Service League, Boulder chapter.

The term "Flags In" is used by the Third US Infantry Regiment, known as the "Old Guard," when they mark the graves in Arlington National Cemetery with over 200,000 flags just before Memorial Day. The Sentinels of the "Old Guard" has performed this honor every year since 1948.

In Louisville, flags were placed on graves of veterans from all of our Nation’s wars and conflicts. The goal is to mark each veteran's grave, whether or not there is a military marker present.
